Dr. C. E. “Jack” Jackson, III was called to be Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lenoir City in March of 2001. Prior to coming to the Volunteer State, he served several churches in his home state of Georgia. Pastor Jack received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he double majored in Religion and Philosophy. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey with a concentration in Church History. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, with an emphasis in Evangelism and Church Growth. He has also served in numerous denominational positions of leadership, including Associational, State Convention, and Southern Baptist Convention agencies. Pastor Jack and his wife, Vickie, have three children: Andie, Caleb, and Micah.

The Place I Grew Up: On a farm in what was at the time a very rural area in Fayette County, Georgia.

Something About Me You Don’t Know: I harvested a 170+ Boone and Crockett 10 Point Buck on my thirtieth birthday and the story was written up in a magazine.
Most Memorable Moment In Ministry: The time my father surprised me by unexpectedly coming hundreds of miles to hear me preach, neither of us knowing he would die just a few weeks later.

Most Memorable Moment In Ministry: There’s not a specific moment, but I love to see others allowing God to work through them, especially in worship and worship leadership.

I have lived Maryville, TN my entire life. I love the foothills and the Smokey Mountains.
Family: My beautiful wife, Lindsey, and I have been married for almost four years and together we have a wonderful daughter, Emma who is two-years-old.
Hobbies: I very much enjoy being outdoors with my family, music, movies, and recreational shooting.

Most Memorable Moment in Ministry: Counseling a couple whose marriage was suffering, and having the opportunity to watch God restore the relationship. Then two years later, receiving an email from the wife saying, “I never thought I would love my husband again.”
Favorite Bible Verse or Passage: Genesis 1-3, because everything is there; creation, fall, redemption.
Favorite Get-Away: Disney, it’s the happiest place on earth

Something About Me You Don’t Know: I played first base on an all- star baseball team that won a state championship
Most Memorable Moment In Ministry: One of the most memorable ministry events for me was my first baptismal service which was outside (we had no baptistry) on a West Virginia January Sunday.. The creek was frozen over so one of the young men to be baptized took his axe and gave me an opening large enough to baptize. On that afternoon, with a large crowd along the banks watching, I baptized 16 new Christians. Not one of us even got the sniffles
