Cubbies

Preschool-age boys and girls, 3 – 4 years old

More About Cubbies...

Awana is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand. The Cubbies curriculum features two handbooks written in a fun, storybook style that appeals to preschoolers.

Each section combines basic Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help a child grasp a simple biblical truth. Two extra-credit handbooks containing additional memory verses and character-building activities are also available.

There are separate handbooks for each of the 2 years children are in Cubbies. The material in these handbooks, enables Leaders and Parents to communicate simple truths in the Bible in a story telling way, with simple scripture memorization. As the Cubbies complete ‘Bear Hug’ sections in their handbooks, they earn awards which they can display proudly on their vest for their friends and parents.

Each week, after Opening Ceremonies, Cubbies enjoy: Large Group Time, Handbook Time, Game Time, Craft Time, and Snack Time!

Sparks

Kindergarten – 2nd grade boys and girls

More About Sparks...

Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and un-churched kids alike. The curriculum takes kids a step deeper into God’s Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

There are separate handbooks for each of the 3 years children are in Sparks. The material in these handbooks, combined with the lessons learned during Large Group Time, give Sparks an excellent foundation in the Bible. As the Sparks complete sections in their handbooks, by memorizing scripture, they earn awards which they can display proudly on their vest for their friends and parents.

Each week, after Opening Ceremonies, Sparks enjoy: Handbook Time, Large Group Time, and Game Time!

Truth & Training

3rd – 5th grade boys and girls

More About T&T...

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third through fifth grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders.

Each of the four handbooks in our Truth & Training clubs investigates four questions. Eight answers from the Bible are provided for each question. Children will learn all eight answers to each of the questions and verses to back up these answers. The handbooks also include Bible studies and activities that allow children to delve into the subject matter and build a foundation of biblical wisdom through memory verse drills and review of key doctrine and the Bible.

The message to the T&T kids is that there is nothing more important than a relationship with Jesus Christ.

As T&T clubbers complete sections in their handbooks, by memorizing scripture, they earn awards which they can display proudly on their uniforms for their friends and parents.

Each week, after Opening Ceremonies, T&T clubbers enjoy: Game Time, Handbook Time, and Large Group Time!

Awana Games

Kids love games time! Lots of fun with their friends!

More About Games...

Games Time is 30 minutes of pure fun for the kids where they burn off a LOT of energy.

Awana games are designed to teach kids teamwork and sportsmanship, while allowing them to have fun and burn some energy. Sprint Pin Pickup and Circle Relay are favourites. The Sparks love to play Sparky Crawl, Sparky Safari, Sparky Train and Rabbit Hunt. The older clubbers love to play Bean Bag Relay, Sprint Relay, Marathon Relay, Sprint Race, Balloon Relay and North Pole/South Pole just to name a few.

Awana games use the Awana games floor: a circle (traditionally 30 feet in diameter) divided in four sections with crossing diagonal lines that form a giant “X” in the circle’s center. Inside of the circle, there’s a center square, with 9-foot sides. Each of the four main diagonal lines is a different color: green, blue, red and yellow; there are five hash marks on each line (equally spaced from the circle to the middle of the line inside the circle).
