Rev. Kelly “Pete” Bartodej was called to serve as Evangelism and Missions Pastor in May 2006. Prior to coming to First Baptist Church, he and his family served seven years with the International Mission Board as missionaries in Brazil. He has also served in other missions positions in the United States with both the South Carolina Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board, and churches in Tennessee, Texas, and South Carolina in a variety of positions. Pastor Pete has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Charleston Southern University, and Masters of Religious Education degree with a missions concentration from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He has completed additional studies in Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Pastor Pete and his wife, Janet, have three children: Kelsey, Kay, and Kyle.
