Dr. Richard DeMerchant is our Pastoral Care and Senior Adult Pastor. He also oversees the Men's Ministry here at First Baptist. Before joining our staff in 1979, he served churches in both Georgia and Florida.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College in Florida, he continued his ministerial studies through the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Pastor Dick also holds a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist School for Biblical Studies in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to holding several denominational leadership positions, he has traveled rather extensively throughout the world in various ministry endeavors.

Pastor Dick and his wife, Della, have three adult children: Lance, Aaron, and Sara.
