| Upward Soccer Purpose Statement
| Upward Soccer operates on the same principles as Upward Basketball. Through Soccer, Upward and First Baptist Church wants every child to know that they are winners! We also want them to know the love of God at a very early age while learning soccer skills. |
| Soccer is open to boys and girls four years old through 6 th grade. Instructional League (4s and 5s), teams are co-ed. 1st thru 6 th Leagues play boys and girls separately. |
| How good at soccer should my child be?
| Upward is designed for children to learn the game of soccer so all children, whether they have played before or not, are encouraged to join. Children are placed on teams to keep them balanced so one team does not have all experienced players or all novice players. |
| When is the Upward Soccer season?
| Registration for soccer usually opens in late July or early August. Evaluations occur about two weeks before practices begin in August and the season ends in mid to late October. Each season concludes with an Awards Celebration where every child receives an award for their hard work. Specific Upward dates change from season to season, but parents may contact the church office for specific days. |
| How much does Upward Soccer Cost?
| First Baptist Church strives to keep Upward affordable for every family. The basic cost is $50.00 per child. The cost goes up the day of the first Evaluation Night. The cost includes a jersey, socks, and much more. Soccer shorts can be purchased through Upward or black short from home may be used. Each child must also have shin guards. Soccer cleats are optional. |
